I joined Poker Sponsor 2-0 when it first opened and I thought the whole idea for the sponsorship was great as I generally earn lots of poker points but never do anything with them. My first sponsorship saw me become sponsored for the buy-in was +5 to the casino, I played a multi-table tournament at my local Governor casino in Blackpool which was my first ever 'live' table tournament.
So I arrived at the casino for 7:30 PM on Tuesday 12th August 2010, to be honest I felt a little out of my league with some of the players looking like semi-pro's and I could over hear some of the players talking about big wins that I could only dream of winning.
The tournament started at 8 PM sharp and I was seated at my table, the first hand I got proved to be a coin flip getting pocket 99 and finding myself pushing all in before the flop, luckily my 99 held up against AQ giving me an early advantage on the table. Nothing much happened after that until I was dealt A5 off suit. I just called a small raise pre-flop and I hit 2 pairs on the flop with the board A22, an older lady raised me by nearly the pot but I probably made a bad call, however the turn drops 5 so I now have top 2 pairs with aces and fives, I proceeded to move all in and I was called by AK. At this point I was one of the tournament leaders.
I never thought I would have been one of the chip leaders in the tournament, I actually thought I would have been out by now so as the field was shortened I was moved tables and what happened next can only be described as sick. I was in late position and 4 people had already called a raise from the early raiser. I look down to see AK suited. I looked at my chip stack and I had over double what any of the other players in the hand had so I moved all-in. Unbelievably I was called by all the players in the hand and they turned over 66, 99 and AQ. Not bad I was thinking especially when the board drops AK2 with 2 clubs on the board and the AQ both being hearts. I thought I was good but the turn and river were both clubs and the player with the 99 had the 9 of clubs which gave him the flush, to make things worse the croupier passed the chips in front of me saying I had won.
Never mind, I thought I still had a medium stack left and I hit pocket 77, I thought I'm all in with this hand let's see what happens and someone had beaten me to it, an 'all in' from early position. I called thinking I was behind but no he turns over 66. Two outs is all he has and I was thinking I was back to where I had started but my tournament was soon over as a 6 dropped on the flop and no 7 came to save me, so that was it I was out of the tournament in unlucky 13th place.
The good thing is that I had not spent a penny on the buy-in as the people at Poker Sponsor 2-0 had paid it for me, and I didn't have to pay them back for losing my sponsored tourney. Now I am on my way to my next poker sponsorship and hopefully will have better luck next time but thanks for the buy-in Poker Sponsor 2-0 and sorry for losing.

A really big thank you to Poker Sponsor 2-0 for giving me a chance to shine at the FT poker tourney. Honestly speaking, none of the other poker sponsorship sites I had used before ever offered me such a great deal of buying me into a poker tourney of my choice. Poker Sponsor 2-0 bought me into $10+1 K.O tourney at Full Tilt poker on the 29/10/2010 and even though I got busted, I still get to keep my knock-out bounties.
Finished 23/166, 5 short of being in the money and K.O 2 players in the process. My screen name is "the PLO boy", so shark scope if you want.
Couple of good plays when I flat call AQ and 4 people to the flop. Flop came Qs 4h 5h, giving me top pair and kicker with a nut flush draw. Being first to act, I choose to check, a player fired first a pot sized bet, PR flat call, I went all in and got the player to call with Q10, I got him dominated.
Next one, had 99 in the S.B, a player was left with like 100 chips and he went all in, button call. I went all in about 3k of chips, B.B and button folds so I'm H.U with the player holding Q8 and I knock him out. This scenario you are always good going all in pf, first get the others to fold and you collect.
Lastly, Limp with QQ ugt hoping someone would raise, but nobody raised and 4 players to the flop. It came J 9 5, first player bets pot, I instantly all in and got another to call me with AJ, first player folded and I won the pot.
How I got busted. B.B holding 55, S.B covered me, called, I went all in to get the blinds and ante's. But he chooses to call with 67 just for the bounty. I think and he hit 6 and 7 on the flop. Turn and river no 5 so I was out. I think it's a good play but got caught and couldn't do anything about it :)
At the end of the day, Poker Sponsor 2-0 is still the number 1 choice for me when it comes to poker sponsorship sites for me from now on, you get rake-back and poker sponsorship. Something no other site offers. All the other poker sites offer is a free-roll per month which isn't as attractive compared to what Poker Sponsor 2-0 offers.
I strongly encourage online poker players without poker sponsorship to not hesitate and sign up now. You get a shot at big poker tourneys and,
good luck at the tables all poker players!

I have been playing poker since 2006, and for the last three years have been a regular member of a Poker Staking Site. I was very fortunate from the start and have had the good fortune to have had most of my serious play sponsored during my career. I believe that having a sponsor makes me play a lot more reserved/disciplined. Knowing my sponsor could be watching always keeps me on my toes and helps me avoid making those rash "Donkey Calls". Poker Sponsor2.0 offer the best sponsorship package I have experienced to date. So much so that i actually questioned the owners as to whether I had misread the Terms of my first sponsorship, as I felt they were unbelievably generous.
I joined Poker Sponsor only last week, and getting a sponsorship so soon, shows that the Poker Sponsor2.0 team are determined to give there members every opportunity they can.
Getting the opportunity to play for Poker Sponsor2.0, is another chance for me to show my talent as a player, while at the same time taking the pressure off my bankroll, which in turn gives me freedom to play my A game without having to worry about Bankroll management.
I must admit that i am not a regular KO player, but on the few occasions I have played them, I feel the best strategy is to sit tight and preserve your chips until the opportunity to get them all in the middle arises, and hope your hand is better than your opponent. I consider myself a Deep stack specialist so the ability to fold fold fold comes naturally to me. However, give me a hand and I will try to get the lot in the middle if I can
Game review:
Nothing much happened in the first hour. The first table I land on is pretty aggressive, so I decided to sit back and leave the Chip hunters to it
Eventually I call an un-raised pot early on in the cut-off with 33, flops 2s4sJc and after a bet from the UTG limper I lay it down.
After watching for a while I spot a player, playing a very wide range I decided to take him on with AT Flop comes Ac3c7h. He c-bets so I flat called but have a pretty good idea he might be playing a low pair or suited connectors. I think I'm ahead and continue to call him to the river as the turn and river don't bring any scary cards.. I was right and my A is good (he has 46s) No KO but a decent sized pot.
Next hand played is 88 from the button UTG limps so I'm set mining, I hit the set on the flop (3way) and call the c-bet.. Turn is a Q and river gives me quads.. I get em in and KO #1 is ours
JJ in the big blind.. 5 limper's.. I raise pot and got one caller.. The flop comes Kh4d9h, I make the C-bet which he flat calls. Turn card is a 5 I decided to ask him if he has a K.. He calls with AT and luckily misses his flush :) KO #2
Going into the 1st Break: I have 2xKOs, 9930 chips and am 31st of 618 players left with 108 getting a share of the prize-pool
AK in early position.. UTG+1 puts in a raise.. I 3bet him.. All fold to him, he calls. Flop 23Tc.. He C-bets.. My K is club so I jam them in.. he snaps with QK and we get KO #3 << Loose play I know but my aim was to represent the flush or an over pair and take it without showdown.. This way worked out better though
I get moved a few times as players drop out and finally settle on yet another aggressive table. Influenced I think by the fact there is a Full Tilt Pro sat at the table and everyone is fighting to get involved in pots with him. Time to sit back on my stack for a while and let him keep the crowd amused until I get a hand. I've played against this pro a few times before and know his game pretty well.. Getting his KO wont be easy. I spend a good 20 minutes watching the less experienced players chip him up in vain attempts to bluff and steal his chips
2nd Break:
I have 3xKOs, 12087 chips and am 102nd of 293 players left
Going into session three I have everyone bar three players covered on my table. Blinds are now 120/240/25. Short-stacks are starting to get jittery so hopefully I can get a hand soon and get them out of the way.
AK off-suit UTG+1 2.75xBB raise 1 caller who claims to have AJ.. Board 88Q.. I open with a 2/3 pot bet and take it down for 3k
A2 in BB.. Sb raises after all fold round.. I decide to stop go and flat it.. flop comes 474 rainbow. He c-bets so I jam and he calls for his tourney life with A9os.. Stack down to 6k.. Schoolboy error on my part.
JJ in cut off..(50 until the money) A raise from mid position and a re re-raise.. I have 14bbs and jam, hoping they both counterfeit each other.. Initial raiser folds, re raiser shows AK and the board comes 34567 for a chop :( Stack up to 7k
Blinds are now 300/600/75. I have 5920 in chips with 30 until the money .. Not in great shape, but still in with a fighting chance.. Time I think to use the clock and slow play down as best I can in the hope I can get a hand soon.
KJ off-suit in cut-off.. no action before me so I go all in to steal the blinds.. (20 until the money)
120 players left.. 108 get paid, I am the tournament short-stack..
QK in cut-off i have 8bbs.. there is a raise ahead but the table aggression is so high I think this is as good an opportunity as any and shove all in.. he shows Q9 OS .. I hold and double up (6 until the money)
3rd Break.. 3xKOs 9540 in chips. Position 96th of 111 players left.. 108 get paid.
Happy Days.... My First sponsorship is a CASH..
The usual Carnage ensues as the bubble pops with all the other Short-stacks going for the double up. Luckily for me I don't see any decent hands for a while so stay out of trouble. However I am back under 10bbs so time is running out..
AQ UTG.. Tank for time and shove all in.. AT calls.. DOUBLE UP to 15k
AQ in BB.. UTG raises and there is a call.. Instant fold even though I am still shorty.. They end up all in AT vs KK.. Kings hold.....
TT in BB... UTG raise.. I go all in (12bbs) and he shows AA.. Game over as the flop helps neither of us..
Many Many thanks to the Poker Sponsor 2.0 team for the opportunity to play on their behalf. I am a little disappointed that I didn't get further in the game but look forward to the next poker sponsorship opportunity with relish..
For anyone thinking of joining Poker Sponsor2.0 I have only one question: Why haven't you done so already?

Sax's 2nd Sponsored Game
$12+1 Buy-In - $250.000Gtd Super Stack K.O M.T.T on Full Tilt poker
After winning the forum competition for being the Top Poster (No Spam, honest), I get my second chance to play as a sponsored player for pokersponsor2.0
Having spent the last few days off from poker due to ill health, I was a little dubious about playing this game. I want to show PS2.0 that i can play, but if my head isn't in the right place I am only going to make myself look a complete wally. So I take the entire day off from poker and chill out with some movies with my family. I completely shut poker out of my head until about an hour before the game. I logged onto Full Tilt poker and registered for the game. then got all my web browsing done so I could focus solely on what I had to do. I felt remarkable good, if I'm honest and was looking forward to getting stuck in..
The game:
I created a new thread on the pokersponsor2.0 forum and kept posting updates as and when things got interesting, so rather than post 6 hours of tournament play, i think it will be easier to get an idea of what happened by visiting the Forum and reading through the Thread
Post game thoughts:
I was total shattered after the game, and went pretty much straight to bed, but once I lay down, I began analysing my play. Overall I played pretty solid poker. I did make a few mistakes but was fortunate enough not to have busted out as a result. The crucial hand was AA v AK just as the bubble popped.. IF that had held I seriously think i was going deep. Luckily my discipline held back the urge to go on tilt and i managed a half decent result..
My record now is 2 cashes from 2 games so on the whole I think i've started well.. not well enough, but its a start..
The above is yet another example of how Pokersponsor2.0 is keen to give players a chance. Not only did pokersponsor2.0 sponsor my play in this game, they also took time out from there busy schedule to actually watch my play throughout the entire tournament. Giving support as and when they could. In my experience, there are not many sponsors that take that kind of interest in there players
If I can win for pokersponsor2.0, WHY CANT YOU??
