Texas Hold'em poker hand rankings from best to worst.

Straight or Royal Flush.

Straight or royal flush is the very best hand and a royal flush is the highest possible hand being 10 to ace all of the same suit. If two players have a straight flush then the player with the highest card connected to the straight flush wins.

Four of a kind.

Four of a Kind is simply 4 cards of the same face value, if two players have 4 of a kind then the highest 4 of a kind wins. If both the players have the same 4 of a kind then the player with the highest kicker card wins.

Full house.

A full house is simply a pair and three of a kind the player with the higher three of a kind winds or if the players have the same three of a kind then the player with the highest pair wins.

Flush.

A flush is quite simple it is 5 cards of the same suit not in any particular order, if two players have a flush then the player with the highest card of the same suit wins.

Straight.

A straight is 5 cards in face value order, for example 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen. The ace can be used as both high and low values for straights.

Three of a kind.

Also know as "trips" three of a kind is simply 3 cards of the same face value as shown left 777 if two players have three of a kind then the player with the highest kicker card wins the pot.

Two Pair.

Two pair is simple, example two queens and two sixes as shown left. If two players have two pairs then the player with either the highest two pair or kicker card wins.

Pair.

A pair is simple, for example 2 queens as shown left the highest pair wins. So the lowest pair being 22 and the highest pair being ace ace.

High card.

High card is simply the person with the highest card at the end of the hand. The player with the highest card wins.
